Reflection on respect for the integrity of others in the metro wagons

How would you feel and how would you react if you were pushed, run over and stepped on by other people in a metro wagon?

The logical answer would be that you would feel attacked and humiliated and most likely you would react in an unkind way to those who behaved in that way with you.

That answer gives rise to the sentence: "Do not do to others what you do not want them to do to you" If you do not want them to push you, run over you and step on you, then do not do the same with other people. The application of that sentence has a humanistic meaning and shows reasonableness and respect for the integrity and dignity of other people.

We are all human beings with feelings and rights and if it would hurt you to be pushed, run over, stepped on and override your rights, then why are you going to do the same with other people? Asking this question and reflecting on it implies putting ourselves in the place of the other. We cannot demand that they respect our rights if we first do not respect the rights of others. Many times we demand that they put themselves in our place but then why don't we put ourselves in other people's shoes first?

This society would be more humanistic, peaceful and respectful if we all applied the sentence mentioned at the beginning: "Do not do to others what you do not want them to do to you" and the humanist advice: "Put yourself in the place of the other person" because that person is another human being like us with his own world and with feelings that deserves respect and has dignity.
